Located in Clearing on the Southwest side of Chicago, El Gallo Giro is a purveyor of authentic Mexican food.

El Gallo Giro, Spanish for “The Cockfighting Rooster,” opened in 1997 and since then has remained a family-owned business. A long-time member of Clearing, our mission has always been to provide our neighborhood with a taste of authentic Mexican food and culture.

A casual and family-friendly restaurant, our menu ranges from classic Mexican breakfasts such as Huevos Rancheros and Chilaquiles, to full-on Mexican dinners, such as our popular Tampiqueña and Fajitas. We specialize in tacos, tortas, and burritos, but we also serve everything from gorditas, to sopes and nachos. El Gallo Giro offers a fast take-out service for our hard-working community members looking for a quick lunch break, as well as a cozy dine-in experience for those looking to savor their meal at their own pace. Every dine-in customer receives complimentary chips and salsa. We are also partnered with Uber Eats, for the customer who prefers to have food delivered to the comfort of their own home.
